Google Maps API on Android+Eclipse

So I just got Google maps working on Android – in Eclipse.

It is just a simple map with zoom functions, but it’s a start.

Here are the source files, including a .apk file to install it on your phone and view:

A few notes:

  • Make sure when you create your project that you choose a Google APIs build – this will include all the Map classes
  • You’ll notice in the main.xml file, there is a slot for API key, this is how you can get that key:
    CMD -> cd c-programfiles-java-‘latest version’-bin
    type: keytool.exe -list -alias androiddebugkey -keystore “c-users-adam-.android-debug.keystore”
    enter password: android 

    That key generated can be used as a debug key for Android Maps.
